+ Well it now 2012 (04/02/2012 - 17:10:53)
It's Saturday again ( Yipeeeeeee!!!!!) And what would you know it SNOWING!!!!! No Football for a third week so what have i been up to ? Updated this website with a few Pics from recent trips , Videos on Youtube of my layout , And now started Scratchbuilding ( Signals of which you will be able to see very soon) .
Nearly finished my GBRf class 66's as i saw one of my missing "Bluebird's" yesterday at a Cold Doncaster 66731 in the latest "Europorte - GBRf" livery at speed on the Selby-Felixstowe Boxes At least now i can claim i have seen one before i put one on my Layout.
Cleaned and Oiled most of the 150 locos on the layout , Replaced several Hundred buffers missing on rolling stock and soldered my fingers ( WOW that Bloody hurt!!!!! Few words were exchanged)
Till next Time
Happy Modeling
Well it's upon us yet again in the words of noddy Holder " ITS CHRISTMASSSSS!!!!!!"
Network rail 31 in N gauge for me only problem is that it does not carry Network rail Logos but not to worry i have plenty. Work is so well advanced on the layout it's self i now can have a major running section over chrimbo.
find below a link to Youtube to watch a few videos of Westcombe;-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riO2qgTkqXU&list=UUptpG-0RcfznWbOylnim6fg&index=3&feature=plcp
|This video is the latest update
Enjoy and i'll see you all Next Year!!!!!
Hi All
It's been a while since i have updated my "Blog" so here it is
Warley done for another year and spent up ( Yes it's every time i go !!!!!) Well done to farish for having their class 411 available . Its a very very very good model to have on any Modern image layout. Needless to say i DID purchase one of these to run on Westcombe Waterloo Road . And i Also brought 2 -58's for the layout ( You know what i mean i could not Resist) But overall it was a fantastic show this year.
Christmas is now just round the corner.
Well the title say's it all.
So what have i been up to ,Well football season has begun yet again and Sheffield are sitting up there on top. Sandite season has also started and what a fantastic treat it is this year Pairs of class 20's but not the DRS varitants but 20142,20189 20901 and 20902 WOW , finally finishing my class 70's that are in the country ( Bring the next batch quick!!!!!) finished all my track work on Westcombe and catenaryed up !!!! Powerhaul a class 90 ( Yes in N gauge ) photos will follow.
And a quick note seen both of the class 67 in Blue.
Well Football season is finally here again
And this means that there might not be as much work on Westcombe going on as much as i would
like . So where did i get to. I brought a class 14" Teddybear" as station pilot for Westcombe Waterloo road. This is a fantastic little model and runs very well as i required a loco with a much greater wheelbase then a class 08 or 09 shunter so it was either going to be a class 15/20 or the class 14 .
The fiddle yard are now complete top and bottom only the Electric stabling points left to build. catenary now complete just the testing now to do but upto now it works well. Oh and seen 43300 in it's new livery ( Only 12hrs old when seen and photoed) and 60011 seen for first time in DB Schenker livery ( WOW ITS SMART)
Till next time
Happy Modelling
HI, all
Due to a heavy workload recently i have had not much time to "Blog Away" until now.
Went to Donctaster this Morning and all i can now say "What a Morning" a pair of class 20's
and no not the DRS type but a pair of hetiage livered pair 20189 in green and 20142 in br blue and what is rumored to be the first ever run of 43300 in it's new livery and also to top it off i completed my class 180's
The layout is also nearing completion ( Track work) with Westcombe Waterloo Road now gaining Power for the first time.
Till next time
Andy
This is the 9th time i've tried to post this!!!!
well i'll begin . I have had a fantastic week a trip to london spotting . Class 379's photoed ( See EMU page) and most of my baseboards fitted for the high level on my layout and corked. Just now to settle on the name Westcombe waterloo Road is now a very firm favourite amogst the familly ( Yes Mum it is in recognistion of that prog you watch on a wednesday)
Till next time
Happy Modeling
Andy
If you don't know i am well advanced in the re-modeling of Westcombe .
a selection of photo are available to view on my modelrailway gallery .
Tonight i will hopefully be putting in a subway, black edging around some of the layout.
as there is nowt on telly.
If it runs a Freightliner Heavy Haul coal train from Cottam which at the moment is a soild 66/5
Cheers
Andy

After a long weekend putting down a few baseboards for the high level ( and getting the level 1st time!!!) the whole layout is certainly begining to take shape .
The baseboards are made from MDF and cut at a well known DIY store making it more like a "Flat pack model railway" this really helped in construction and time saved in other areas. photo will be posted on the model railway gallery.
On other news i got two life ticks today 37194 and 37087 on a network rail test train "GET IN THERE" well pleased .
Well its finally arrived yes dapols class 86 has finaly reached the shops and what can i say about it but WOW it runs brilliantly and livery decoration is nothing short of brilliant and then you have the extra detailing bits and is defiatly worth the money
On another note i have done a bit more work to Westcombe High level ( the southern third rail extension ) with all fiddle yards finished and trains now running on all sections and also i now have a second DRS class 37 running on the layout 37229 jonty jarvis in drs compass livery
Finally on the footballing front Sheffield F.C got to the unibond division one south playoffs but lost to Chasetown 3-2 but one week later won at Hillsbrough in the sheffield senior cup final against Hallam F.C 4-2 so it was not a disaponting season after all!!!!
untill next time
Andy
O.K it tuesday and again no footie match, well never mind it model railway time and with having a extensive N Gauge modern image collection it needs running and with the extension undergoing final aproval and checking my bank balance. The extension will be a small section of the southern region third rail which will include a small station , stabling area for units/diesels and will be above my WCML layout and diappear into tunnels after going across on a bridge whilst the WCML will be slightly remodeled to look like the approch to Birmingham New street. Back to the real railway , saw the limestone to Drax this morning yeah missed the no of the greenhouse this morning but saw the Cemex in the afternoon double shed ( Iam i the only enthusiast that think double shedding does not makes scence) and loads of Virgin Vomiters.
On my work bench this week i have a freightliner class 90 No 90016 which needs just finishing off and a novelty repaint which i think could have happened a class......................................87 in freightliner green
Well its Satuarday again Football day but looking at the weather forecast for the week before i guess i have no chance of a match again this week again ( i have seen my team play nearly 4 weeks ago at Loughbrough Dyanamo) if you have not guessed i watch non-leauge football and work and support Sheffield f.c the worlds oldest football club. well any way getting back i finally decide to take my camera out to photo trains in my local area in the snow and know it would be deep powdery snow Donny would be a very good stuff .
true to my word it was was powdery and a HST proved it (Lastest Gallery) the only downside is with it being was cold i thought there was going to be a few coal trains knocking about but how wrong could i be . There was no damn freight about at all the only diesel i saw were the two cotswold rail 47's and 67002 on thunderbird duties and of course HST's whizzing about well not to worry at least i saw something run and photoed .
Lets see what happens next week . just maybee ill get my last transpennine class 170 no170306 come passed work or maybe a class 70 working the local limestone to Drax /Eggbrough power stations
